Born in Holland, Felicitas Sloves has been weaving since 1980. In 1998 she wove her first prayer shawl and since then has been weaving primarily Judaica and liturgical textiles. She is a graduate of Smith College and has a Master’s Degree from Tufts University. She has also studied at Boston University and has taken textile and design classes at Cooperstown Graduate Program of SUNY, Vassar College, and Massachusetts College of Art. Her liturgical pieces are in the collections of universities, churches and members of the clergy -- both Christian and Jewish. Felicitas volunteers her talents in the Jewish and interfaith community of Memphis.
Felicitas will work directly with clients to custom design and weave prayer shawls, tallitot, for any special occasions which may include Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, anniversaries, special birthdays or to add to a collection. All prayer shawls are unusual with the unique imprint of the intended wearer. Materials are all natural and can be either a silk and wool blend or 100% cotton. Tzitzit are hand tied and are available in a wide selection of color combinations.
